报告人简介:

罗杰波教授目前就职于美国罗彻斯特大学(University of Rochester, USA)计算机科学系,是ACM,AAAI,IEEE、SPIE和IAPR等国际著名学会会士(Fellow)。研究涉及图像处理、计算机视觉、机器学习、数据挖掘、社交媒体、数字医疗、城市计算等多个前沿领域。罗杰波教授曾于”柯达实验室“从事研究长达十五年,并担任该实验室首席科学家。罗杰波教授是多媒体领域顶级期刊IEEE Transactions on Multimedia (T-MM)的现任主编(Editor-in-Chief),国际顶级会议ACM Multimedia 2010/2018,CVPR 2012等大会共同主席/程序主席,并(曾)担任IEEE T-PAMI, IEEE T-MM, IEEE T-CSVT, IEEE T-BD, ACM T-IST, Pattern Recognition等国际顶尖学术期刊副编辑。罗杰波教授发表逾400篇学术论文,持有90余项美国专利。近年来,罗杰波教授在社交多媒体研究及其社会应用中做出了开创性贡献。

随着人工智能相关领域的飞速发展,学术会议和期刊规模日益扩大。近年来应运而生了大量新的顶级会议期刊的审稿人。如何做好一个合格的审稿人,对学科领域发展作出贡献? 我们将分享一些经验和建议。

报告人简介:

Ming-Hsuan Yang is a Professor in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at University of California at Merced, and a senior staff research scientist at Google. He received the PhD degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2000. He serves as a program co-chair for IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV) in 2019 as well as Asian Conference on Computer Vision (ACCV) in 2014, and a general co-chair for ACCV in 2016. He serves as an associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence (2007 to 2011), International Journal of Computer Vision, Computer Vision (IJCV), Computer Vision and Image Understanding (CVIU), Image Understanding, Image and Vision Computing (IVC), and Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research (JAIR). He received numerous paper awards from CVPR, ACCV, and UIST. Yang received Google faculty award in 2009, and NSF CAREER award in 2012.  He received paper awards in CVPR, ACCV and UIST. He is a Fellow of IEEE.

报告摘要:

In this talk, I will share my experience in how to publish papers in top conferences and journals. In particular, I will discuss the pitfalls and common mistakes of submitted papers from the perspectives of program chair, area chair and associate editor. 



Panel嘉宾:梅涛 (JD.COM) 


嘉宾简介:

Tao Mei is a Technical Vice President with JD.COM and the Deputy Managing Director of JD AI Research. His team is focusing on the research, development, innovation and commercialization of computer vision and multimedia technologies. He also led the effort on machine learning open platform. Prior to joining JD.COM in 2018, he was a Senior Research Manager with Microsoft Research Asia in Beijing, China, where he has shipped over 20 inventions and technologies to Microsoft products and services.  

 Tao has authored or co-authored over 200 publications (with 12 best paper awards) in journals and conferences, and holds over 50 US and international patents. He was elected as a Fellow of IEEE, a Fellow of IAPR, a Distinguished Scientist of ACM, and a Distinguished Industry Speaker of IEEE Signal Processing Society, for his contributions to large-scale multimedia analysis and applications.

Panel嘉宾:张磊(微软公司美国)


嘉宾简介:

Lei Zhang is a principal researcher and research manager of the computer vision research group in Microsoft Cloud & AI. Prior to this, he has worked with Microsoft Research Asia for 12 years as a senior researcher, leading a research team working on visual recognition, image analysis, and large-scale data mining. His years of work on large-scale, search-based image annotation has generated many practical impacts in multimedia search, including a highly scalable solution of duplicate image clustering for billions of images. From 2013 to 2015, he moved to Bing Multimedia Search as a principal development manager, helping develop cutting-edge solutions for web-scale image analysis and recognition problems, including image caption generation and high precision image entity linking. Lei is an IEEE Fellow and a senior ACM member, and has served as editorial board members for IEEE T-MM, T-CSVT, and Multimedia System Journal, as program co-chairs, area chairs, or committee members for many top conferences. He is the author or co-author of 150+ published papers in fields such as multimedia, computer vision, web search and information retrieval, and holds 50+ U.S. patents for his innovation in these fields.

Panel嘉宾:李宏东(澳大利亚国立大学)


嘉宾简介:

Professor Hongdong Li has been with the College of Engineering and Computer Science, the Australian National University (ANU). He joined the ANU Research School of Information Sciences and Engineering (RSISE) from 2004 first as a Postdoctoral Fellow and then Research Fellow and a Senior Fellow. He was seconded to National ICT Australia (NICTA) as a Senior Research Scientist during 2008-2010 working on the Australia Bionic Eye Project. From 2010 he took a tenured position with ANU, doing teaching and research in computer vision and robotics at ANU. He as one of the fouding CIs joined the ACRV since 2014. During 2017—2018 he was a Visiting Professor with the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), Pittsburgh. 

Hongdong’s primary reserch interests are in 3D Computer Vision, Multi-view geometry, camera pose and optimal 3D registration, deep learning and autonomous driving. His research address fundamental problems in 3D reconstruction of dynamic non-rigid environments. He serves on the Editorial Boards for leading journals in computer vision and artificial intelligence, such as the Associate Editor for IEEE T-PAMI (Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence), Guest Editor for IJCV (International journal of computer vision), editor for IVC (Image and Vision Computing), IET-Computer Vision, and IPSJ CVA (Computer Vision and Application). He serve regularly as Area Chair and Session Chair for recent year IEEE CVPR, ICCV, and ECCV etc. top and premier conferences in computer vision. He was the Co-Program Chair for Australasian Conference on Robotics and Automation (ACRA) in 2015 and DICTA 2017, as well as a co-Program Chair for ACCV-2018 “Asian Conference on Computer Vision” in 2018, and a Co Chair for ACCV 2022 conference to be held in Macau. His recent works focus on learning in 3D perception and vision based spatial-awareness computation, and efficient and robust robot navigation in unfamiliar environments. 

Jointly with his students and co-workers he won a number of most prestigious awards in computer vision, including the “David Marr Prize- Honourable mention” in 2017, the IEEE CVPR Best Paper Award in 2012, and IEEE ICIP Best Student Paper Prize in 2014, and IEEE ICPR Best student Paper in 2010. Both Marr Prize and CVPR Best Paper Award are highly regarded awards in international computer vision community. A list of previous-year Marr Prize (including Honorable Mention) winners can be found on the IEEE website. So far, he has published over 150 peer-reviewed papers in major venues. He has supervised/co-supervised/graduated 20+ PhD students in the area of computer vision. His research projects have been funded by Australia Research Council, CSIRO, as well as by global technical firms including Microsoft Research, General Motors, Toshiba, Baidu AI, and Ford Motors, etc.

山世光,中科院计算所研究员、博导,现任中科院智能信息处理重点实验室常务副主任。他是基金委优青,万人计划入选者,CCF青年科学家奖获得者,首届腾讯科学探索奖获得者。他的研究领域为计算机视觉、模式识别和机器学习。已在国内外刊物和学术会议上发表论文300余篇,其中CCF A类论文80余篇,论文被谷歌学术引用19000余次(H-index为69)。曾应邀担任过CVPR19/20/21, ICCV11, ACCV12/16/18,ICPR12/14/20,FG13/18/20,BTAS18等十余次领域主流国际会议的领域主席,现/曾任IEEE TIP, CVIU, PRL, Neurocomputing, FCS等国际学术刊物的编委(AE)。研究成果获2005年度国家科技进步二等奖,2015年度国家自然科学二等奖  。

主持人简介:

欧阳万里于香港中文大学电子工程系获得博士学位。悉尼大学高级讲师。ICCV最佳审稿人,IJCV客座编辑(Guest Editor),IEEE高级会员,ICCV2019展示主席。担任TPAMI, IJCV, TOG, TIP, CVPR, ICCV, SIGGRAPH等期刊/会议的审稿人,论文被谷歌学术引用12000余次,H-index 53。研究方向包括计算机视觉,模式识别,深度学习,图像处理等。主要从事基于深度学习结构设计,物体检测与跟踪,以及与人相关的问题的课题研究。
